Interim General Counsel Julie Ragsdale leads Strada’s legal team and has been integral in helping Strada advance its mission for more than 18 years. She is Strada’s acting corporate secretary and manages compliance and risk mitigation for the organization. She oversees the contracting process and advises on issues related to real estate, intellectual property, data privacy, insurance, litigation, philanthropy, and research. She also serves on the management investment committee.
With over 23 years of experience, Ms. Ragsdale started her career in the business section of Ice Miller, where she practiced law in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, general corporate, franchise, consumer protection, and antitrust. For USA Funds, Strada’s predecessor organization, she managed student loan litigation for 13 years, including a case before the U.S. Supreme Court. Ms. Ragsdale supported the finance, communications, IT, philanthropy, and customer relations teams at USA Funds and supported the successful operation and ultimate dissolution of Secondary Market Services Corp.-Hawaii, which resulted in nearly $15 million to support philanthropic efforts benefitting the citizens of Hawaii.
Ms. Ragsdale earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Gonzaga University and a Juris Doctorate from Willamette University College of Law. Ms. Ragsdale is a member of the Indianapolis and Indiana State Bar Associations, the Association of Corporate Counsel, and serves on the board of directors of Indianapolis Indians Charities, the Hamilton Southeastern Education Foundation and Indianapolis RBI.
