As president and co-founder of DXtera Institute, Dale Allen, Ph.D., is responsible for the expertise and strategic direction to realize DXtera’s entrepreneurial vision of transforming higher education through digital solutions.

A nationally recognized leader in post-secondary education policy and innovation, Allen brings more than 27 years of leadership experience in public and private higher education, systems office, and private industry.

Prior to founding DXtera, Allen served a joint appointment as a special assistant to the Commissioner of Higher Education for Massachusetts and as vice president at Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester, Mass. In these roles, he led policy development for college and career pathways, economic development transformations, as well as the conceptualization and implementation of multiple national education and workforce development initiatives. Allen held previous senior leadership roles at Springfield College and in private industry.

Allen holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Springfield College and a doctorate in public policy from University of Massachusetts, Boston.
